How To Register
Below is a list of our teachers that offer ¬†banjo lessons & mandolin lessons¬†at our Duluth¬†location along with their class openings. We encourage new students¬†to take a 30 minute trial lesson. You can meet the teacher and learn more about our school. Currently, we are offering the trial lessons for $20 (one per student). Click on¬†“enroll”¬†to register¬†for a¬†trial¬†lesson. If you do not see times listed for a teacher, that means their schedule is full. Once our staff confirms the time chosen, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not see a convenient time, need help coordinating more than one student or have any questions, please call the office

Banjo Lessons & Mandolin Lessons in Duluth
Rick Lawrence is a classically trained, multi-instrumentalist that has been teaching stringed instruments privately for 16 years. His students have ranged in age from 4-80 years old, from the hobbyist or beginner to the professional or aspiring professional. He tailor-makes his lessons to the goals, needs and vision of each individual student and strives to create a friendly
learning environment for all his students.. Rick studied classical guitar under Mary Akerman and Jazz guitar from Rick Denton at Kennesaw State University. In addition to his studies at KSU, Rick has also performed in masterclasses with Christopher Parkening, Oscar Ghiglia, Roland Dyens, Ricardo Cobo, Michael Chapdelaine and Adam Holzman to name a few. Rick has played guitar and banjo in local Americana and bluegrass bands for 15 years. Rick‚Äôs lessons emphasize proper technique and a strong musical foundation, which free the student to be able to play any style or artist that interests them. His friendly approach to lessons is great for younger students as well as professionals. Rick is available for lessons on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele, and in the styles of Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Country, Fingerstyle, and Classical.
